A traceable research process
The following rules define the intended standard of our research services. They are not claims about reports already sold or published.
Define the question
Agree the subject, identifier, objective, scope and data cut-off before work starts.
Log sources
Record publisher, original URL, publication date and retrieval date for relevant evidence. Use licensed data only with appropriate permission.
Separate facts from assumptions
Explicitly distinguish evidenced facts, derived conclusions, hypotheses and unknowns.
Keep comparisons consistent
Use comparable currencies, denominators, reporting periods and metric definitions. Never replace missing data with invented values.
Cross-checks and conflicts
Check material claims against additional evidence. Disclose client relationships, sponsorships and relevant conflicts in the report where present.
Make corrections visible
Reports carry a version and data date. Material corrections should record date and reason; updates are not automatically included in every assignment.
