Direct answer
Identify an ERC-721 token by network, contract, and token ID. The ownership lookup, metadata location, and contractual usage rights require separate checks.
Research problem and method
Identify the token and contract precisely
Record the chain, contract address, and token ID. ERC-721 defines an ownership lookup. Record the block height and time for any query. An address returned by the lookup does not establish the legal identity of the person controlling it.
The metadata extension is optional under ERC-721. If the contract provides a URI, record the resolved reference and the content observed. Check the specific implementation for whether the reference can change. Preserve the observation as dated evidence.
In the ENS example, the subject is a name registration. ENS documentation describes the registrar and its expiration rules. Check the status and rules for the specific registration. Rights to use media or brands require separate evidence.
