Blockchain Academy Frankfurt

Dear reader

Environmental protection has become an increasingly important topic worldwide in recent years and will shape our economic thinking in the coming decades. Blockchain technology can have a major positive impact through the tokenization of carbon. In this panel, panelists will discuss how carbon tokenization can be implemented in current markets and take a deep dive into some of its pros and cons.

This is the main topic of the panel discussion by Dr. Oliver Krause (Untitled INC), Cara Reuner (European Carbon Offsetting Tokenization Association (ECOTA)), Jerome Cochet (goodcarbon), Lucas Zaehringer (Blocksize Capital / Verity Tracking), Maximilian Rösgen (European Carbon Offsetting Tokenization Association (ECOTA)) and Tim Schuldt (Callirius). It took place at the Crypto Assets Conference in October 2022. Follow this link to watch the panel discussion:

"Tokenization of carbon - the next big thing? (panel discussion)" (approx. 31 min.)

What is this video about?

The panel on carbon tokenization highlights one of the most important blockchain use cases where the technology, which serves as a transparent and trustworthy data repository, could have a positive impact on society. The speakers will discuss how carbon tokenization works and how to translate something illiquid like nature into something liquid like a financial product. What are the technical and regulatory challenges of creating a global market through blockchain?

The panel discussion will take place at the Frankfurt School Blockchain Academy. There you will also find further lectures, presentations and current industry insights on many topics relating to e.g. digital assets, crypto and custody as well as the digitally programmable euro.

We hope you enjoy watching and learning.

Best regards,

Matthias
